The Trade-In Awareness Initiative
Helping fellow Seniors Understand and Benefit From Policy Trade-Ins
The initiative is an advocate-run campaign which aims to get information about trade-ins out to the Seniors who can benefit from trading in a policy. Outreach efforts aim to reach those who are struggling to afford premiums, those who are paying for policies they no longer need, and those who are facing overwhelming expenses and are unaware that this resource is available to them.

Awareness
90% of Senior policy holders do not know they have the option to trade in a life insurance policy. Because of this, older Americans continue to drop unneeded or too expensive policies, forfeiting a valuable asset they have the right to redeem for payment.
Advocates work to increase awareness of this option through outreach. Efforts include making calls to community members, distributing flyers at community centers, residences, and public events, and giving presentations at Senior centers and libraries.

Information
Advocates aim to be a resource for information about policy trade-ins and to make this knowledge available to as many Seniors as possible through maintenance of this website and distribution of printed materials.
Alongside providing general education online and in print, advocates are able to communicate one-on-one with Seniors to answer questions and provide details specific to individual circumstances.
Anyone who would like more information about policy trade-ins can speak with an advocate over the phone or through email by reaching out on the Learn More page.

Assistance
An essential goal of the initiative is to help fellow Seniors navigate the process of trading in a policy by offering free, one-on-one assistance over the phone and through email.
Anyone interested in trading in a policy can begin the process, or get more information, by speaking directly with an advocate. The advocate will be able to assist in locating and connecting the policy holder with a licensed specialist best qualified to facilitate his or her trade-in.

How To Trade In A Policy
Advocates are able to provide free assistance to any Senior who would like to trade in a policy. If you would like to do so, or you have questions about policy trade-ins, the first step is to speak with an advocate over the phone or email to verify that your policy is eligible and discuss how the process works. The advocate can then connect you with the appropriate licensed specialist for your policy. Advocates do not require, and will not ask for, sensitive personal information while assisting you.
